We are thrilled to announce that Antara Nayak is joining the GroUI Foundation as our new Co-President! This exciting development marks a significant milestone for our organization and promises to bring fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership to our team.
Antara, a high school student from Livingston, New Jersey, brings an impressive array of skills and experiences that make her an ideal fit for this leadership role:
Leadership and Community Service
As Secretary of the National Charity League(https://www.nationalcharityleague.org/) , Antara has already demonstrated her leadership capabilities and commitment to community service. She has held number of board positions in her 5 years tenure at National Charity and improved community outreach by participating in multiple philanthropic activities like Feed the homeless, Livingston Neighbors helping neighbors, Project Linus etc. Her involvement with organizations like the Alzheimer's Association and American Red Cross has cultivated essential skills such as leadership, community service, teamwork, empathy, and event coordination.
Passion for Women's Health
What truly sets Antara apart is her passion for women's health. Through her interactions and experiences, she has identified critical needs in Nigeria pertaining to women's health. This awareness, combined with her involvement in initiatives like MXFLOW's period product drive for women's shelters, showcases her commitment to addressing real-world issues affecting women's health globally. In addition to her other responsibilities, she will be responsible for broadening GroUI’s reach to Nigeria.
Antara's commitment to the medical field is evident in her ongoing research work with Dr. Tsang in the Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia University. Additionally, her experience shadowing Dr. Shalu Narang in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Newark Beth Israel has given her valuable insights into the practical aspects of healthcare. Antara's participation in competitions like the USA Biology Olympiad and her work with WESTEM on developing an AAC app for speech-impaired individuals demonstrates her innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
These qualities will be invaluable in her role as Co-President, where she'll be tasked with addressing complex healthcare challenges by getting involvement in multiple initiatives like mobilizing donations of glasses and contact lens for communities in need, arranging resources for children struggling and their families who need consultation in USA for certain ailments .
As Antara steps into her role as Co-President of the GroUI Foundation, we are confident that her unique blend of academic excellence, healthcare passion, and leadership experience will drive our organization to new heights. Her fresh perspective and dedication to women's health issues, particularly in regions like Nigeria, align perfectly with our foundation's mission.

GroUI is partnering with the Essex County Perinatal Span Program to provide diapers and baby formula to families in need. Span program has offered to accept donations of diapers and baby formula, which will then be distributed to those in need.
GroUI, spearheaded by Antara Nayak, has initiated discussions with Professor Uchenna Ekwochi, the Provost of ESUT College of Medicine at Parklane Teaching Hospital in Enugu, Nigeria. The collaboration aims to explore ways GroUI can collaborate with and help with the hospitals community medicine initiatives.
This partnership seeks to address pressing healthcare challenges within local communities in Nigeria and underscores GroUI’s commitment to fostering global partnerships for impactful healthcare solutions. We are excited!
